Development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) are increasingly developing has a considerable influence on the aspect of education, especially in the learning process. In this case the interaction between teachers and learners are not only conducted through face-to-face relationships, but also done by using Internet technology.
This kind of learning can be inferred as e-learning. E-learning is an abbreviation of Electronic Learning, a new way in teaching and learning that use electronic media in particular the Internet as a learning system. E-learning in its broadest sense can include learning to be done in electronic media (internet) either formally or informally. E-learning is formally example is learning the curriculum, syllabus, subjects and tests that have been arranged and prepared on a schedule agreed upon the parties concerned (the manager of e-learning and the learners themselves). E-learning can also be done informally with a simpler interaction, for example by means of mailing lists, e-newsletter or a personal website.Advantages of using e-learning include:
- Save time teaching and learning process,
- Reducing travel costs,
- Save the cost of education as a whole
- Reach a wider geographical area,
- Train more independent learners in gaining knowledge.
